For a glimpse into maritime history, take a guided tour of this special lighthouse, erected in 1917 to manage increased traffic at the east end of Lake Erie. Designated a National Historic Site and a Classified Federal Building, the lighthouse is open for tours every other Saturday throughout the summer months (June-September), though tickets are required. No walk-ins are allowed on tour dates.
The lighthouse grounds are open to pedestrians, cyclists, and permitted motorized handicap scooters – with gatehouse approval and a signed waiver – on weekdays from 3-5 PM and weekends from 10 AM-5 PM. Please note that access to the lighthouse tower is not included in these visits.
